"Great Blue Heron"

This hot-cast bronze by Kentucky sculptor Raymond Graf is 9.25" tall (including its base) and is limited to 200 individually cast pieces. Each piece in the edition includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by both the artist and the Audubon Museum Curator.

This selection is the first miniature in a series based on the Henderson, Kentucky public arts project that features life-sized bronze sculptures taken from Audubon paintings. Audubon lived and worked in Henderson, Kentucky from 1810 to 1819.

The Great Blue Heron is one of the most sought after of Audubon's birds. Painted in Louisiana in 1821, Audubon continued to rework the composition and position. From Plate #211 of the Double Elephant Folio of the "Birds of America".
